Get involved in Life in Lockdown
The artwork of Russell Haines cannot be missed; it’s bright, bold and tells powerful stories. Russell is again reaching out to Gloucester residents to create his latest piece, this time, for their responses to life in lockdown.
Russell is asking you all to draw, paint, stitch, photograph, selfie, write (etc, etc!) to create your artistic response to ‘Living in Isolation.’ This could be artwork, poetry, inspiring quotes, the view from your window, family selfie or even a NHS rainbow! You can then send it to him via email or post. Submissions will be uploaded to an online gallery (website to follow) to document people’s experiences of lockdown.
“With such an unprecedented event unfolding before us it is important to document how ordinary people are living through it and show how a diverse city such as Gloucester copes” says Russell.
Throughout the next few weeks Russell will incorporate your responses into a new painting a large positive artistic response to the pandemic using the content from the Gloucester public to design the piece. Printed copies of your submissions will be pasted onto the painting so that everybody’s response is included. There will be a 1hr livestream daily on weekdays of the piece being created. The schedule will follow along with details of how you can watch.
